Saquon Barkley or Ezekiel Elliot. Who’s Better for Fantasy?

If you’re a smart Fantasy Player, you’re waiting until after the Pre-Season to draft your Fantasy Teams. But, perhaps, your excitement and anticipation were too much to bare and you drafted early. For this, I cannot blame you.

If you are like me and are still preparing for your draft, there’s question this year to which running back you should target in the first round. The clear cut number two guys are Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliot and Giants RB Saquon Barkley. The NFC East isn’t lacking Running Backs.

Let’s compare the two. Elliott had over 1,400 yards rushing and 6 rushing touchdowns for a very impressive 4.7 yards a carry. If your league is PPR (Points Per Reception), Elliott also had 77 catches for an additional 500 yards with 3 more touchdowns. To put it simply, Zeke is a stud.

This may be hard to believe, but Saquon Barkley had a better season yet. Barkley had a little less yards with 1,300 but makes up for it with 11 rushing touchdowns with 91 catches for 700 yards and 4 receiving touchdowns.

There’s no denying that both players are as elite as they come. This requires digging a little deeper. Elliott has a contract dispute. This should worry Fantasy Players. For your first pick, you want someone as reliable as humanly possible. This isn’t Zeke, unfortunately.

The Giants offense consists of Saquon Barkley, Saquon Barkley, and Saquon Barkley. If you’re wondering who you should draft if given the option between the two players, it’s Saquon Barkley.

It’s very possible that Elliott might fall this year, if so, there’s potential to get the steal of the draft. It’s something you need to monitor very closely.

As someone who drafted Le’Veon Bell last season with his number one pick, I can ensure you that having your star player sit for an entire year is not fun. 0/10 would recommend. However, if you see Zeke slip into the second round or even third round, the temptation there is just too great.
